I have been playing a bit on sky poker recently, and so far its reasonably profitable. There are some drawbacks with skypoker, the main one is having to use the flash player, which is very resource hungry. This means you will have issues if you try to multi-table, or have an older machine.
I have not played many sng's but have played a couple of mtt's and a fair few cash games. The cash games at the microstakes level are really really bad. If you just wait for your hands , and bet every street with them , you are likely to make a profit.
I do like to throw in the occasional Bluff, and I got slowrolled by a skyplayer while doing so.
I was betting every street , and had 1/2 my stack in. The river card meant there were 4 clubs on the board. I had two options. Check, and lose the pot (as I hads nothing), or shove all in. I thought the shove was the stronger move and would even get mid to low clubs to fold. I of course didn't have a club in my hand.
Well, I thought I was going to take the pot down as I sat and watched the timebar go down. Then at the last second, there was a call and villain had a pair of aces and one of them was the Ace of Clubs.
This infuriated me. Really, what's the point in this. Why not just call immediately.
I actually got abusive in the chat box. Something I don't normally do.
I wanted to get that player back but unfortunately didn't get the opportunity. What surprised me is that the player to my right didn't see anything wrong in slowrolling. I did get an opportunity to slowroll him but didn't bother. Instead I managed to stack him twice, so my session started by losing £20 but I left the table with £54 , which means I made a small £14 profit. The hardest thing to do was not to go on tilt after being slowrolled.
Anyway, I decided to name and shame , and the villain (dirty slowrolling bitch ) is what I typed in chatbox is angie_gg. I have made a note to that effect , so I will slowroill that player. (If I remember)
