Showjumping Successes

The Regional qualifier for the Equestrian Photographic services (EPS) Team Showjumping event took place on Saturday, and one of the two showjumping Teams that our club entered, ended up qualifying for the RDS for the 2nd year in a row.
As this event took place on a Saturday, that meant that there would be no school horses made available to hire, which is unfortunate as I would have loved to take part in this competion. Its ridden in the same form as the nations cups showjumping, ie the best 3 scores out of 4 count.

Last year, we were only allowed to use 3 riders at the RDS despite having qualified with 4 horses, as one of the horses got injured and they did not allow substitute horses. Pretty strange , as two years previously they allowed us to keep the same rider and substitute a horse.
This of course severely handicapped up, and we ended up 7th of the 9 times competing.

We'll definitely be hoping for a better performance this year and we have a pretty strong team that is well capable of winning the event. Only one Team Member , Nuala, is returning from last year (as well as Helena, who wasn't allowed to ride, last year). Nuala's horse (Trumpet) is still pretty young but I think last years experience will help the combination.

We also had the last of the ShowJumping league events on Sunday, and Mysef and Teachai were the only combination to have a double clear round. We have now won 3 out of the 4 showjumping league events, and scooped the league Title for the Intermediate class for the first time, with a maximum score of 36pts. (Besrt 3 out of 4 Results count).

Ironically, this was my worst showjumping performance out of the 4 league events. There was nothing major wrong, just one of those days when things were slightly out of sync and you hope that your horse can get you out of trouble, when necessary.
